The Louis Vuitton Buttersoft Sneaker in 'Macassar' uses Monogram Macassar, the house's coated canvas that prints the Monogram pattern in dark brown against black. Georges Vuitton introduced the Monogram in 1896, interlocking the L and V initials with four-petal flower motifs. The low-top silhouette pairs that canvas with supple leather trim and keeps branding minimal across the upper. Coated canvas gives the sneaker a surface that resists water where untreated leather would absorb it.
